Acknowledged as the world’s number one gin, it is a Dutch-type gin of 80-proof produced from selected spirits and botanical extracts. Its predominant flavor comes from juniper berries.

Ginebra San Miguel Flavors
From the makers of the largest selling gin in the world and multi-awarded gin brand, comes another world-class hard liquor beverage that is perfect for every occasion.

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2QsoudBBdkNfnM0V6HcvXGu8xZte4tF_SLNAFmx6DoHnbnj9DfCLYZGj0KEzOhbTuUDykiOVhKQB8YWi9AG6bZJ2QuSIuMmZuRV_6KI5Nya0SRHRvMdyvAhTy2hJn-3SMDOFZTA_iGY4/s1600/g5.jpg

Ginebra San Miguel Flavors is a flavoured spirit that has just the right amount of kick to jumpstart your party—be it an elaborate birthday celebration, the usual Friday night jam, or a simple get together with your barkada.

 Sample Recipe

It’s easy on the pockets, too. At 700mL a bottle, it would cost you only Php 60 to buy either one of our variants, strawberry and lychee.

With its fruity flavors and low alcohol content (35 alcohol proof), it goes down smooth and is very easy to consume.

Ginebra San Miguel Flavors is best served chilled, but if you’re feeling more adventurous, you can use it as a mixer to create an original cocktail recipe for you and your friends to enjoy.

San Miguel Apple and Lemon Flavored Beer

San Miguel Apple and Lemon Flavored Beer

San Miguel has just launched their set of flavored beers. Do you remember Cali Shandy back in the 90′s? It’s something like that but it has 3% alcohol (Cali doesn’t have alcohol content). This is for people who want to socialize with their beer drinking friends without having the bitter taste of beer. The packaging of their flavored beers is identical with the San Miguel All Malt Premium Beer.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk4P66T6KXjiXeHvzAi5knvqIDe8RDornZ4s5GVYpc-PreraU0WJhoCo4fghLGpVhANK9-k0-QPEm2KXzxa50MocjwonAm1_UqBjNv92K8cdsjIyFcv2D85kLPV7yA76orA8oucp63fAHa/s1600/san-miguel-apple-lemon-beer-flavor.PNG

It has two flavors: Apple and Lemon. I prefer the Lemon flavor because it’s just like drinking Sprite combined with beer. These flavored beers are not available in all bars nationwide. Their flavored beers are in line with their Lifestyle beers such as Cerveza Negra and the All Malt Premium Beer.

It was not that expensive too! Each 330ml bottle will not exceed P30.00 each.

My favorite flavor is the APPLE one, because its sweetness eliminates the bitter taste of the beer. I also recommend that you drink this one, ice cold! I’m sure this one will be a hit to all Filipinos.

Three words to describe it. Best beer ever! First, the beer has only 3% alcohol content and that made it light for me. Second, the bitter taste is almost inexistent! First time I drank it like drinking an ordinary juice. Although it may seem like a ladies drink, I don't care. The next time you go to parties or gatherings, look for one and enjoy yourself an ice cold flavored beer! Drink Moderately! =)

Red Horse Beer

Red Horse Beer

This is a complete different brew and was even a separate brewery until a few years ago, when it was acquired by San Miguel.

It’s somewhat sweeter also and with more acid than the rest. It also comes with cereals, starch and sugar added (really!)

Taste consists of malt and corn, picked up some honey, grass and booze as well. Overall, the taste is very light, surprisingly little sugar or hops. Light bodied with low carbonation. Aftertaste is very dry with a lingering booze taste.

This beer has danger written all over it. High alcohol beer that can easily be chugged without being to heavy or sugary. The taste is very dulled down with no distinguishable features, but for malt liquor, that may be a good thing.

Gold Eagle Beer

Gold Eagle

This seems to be the budget alternative to SMB. Priced slightly lower, the Grande version can go for as low as 39 Pesos per 1 liter bottle!

 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3455/3274696022_4c71eb523b.jpg
Light malt finish with hop accents. Very slightly different than the pilsen variety, except for the hop accents and malt finish. Bright-gold color with small hop nose, and a very ordinary dry hop flavor. Finishes just like it starts with a small malt and brief dry hop aftertaste. An enjoyable beer that is better than Budwieser when served cold.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG6Fr_QVYJF2CLFqD7MtZiQYX2_yLp2MPxIg7vaH8plMBRStnnvo_HQoP_cAGtOQpjrRRqUUKQHbgRpwWntXwpbLS_rBeX8o4imht-IjT8p70yr-C9h2lEZw8Tohfn0fYbnuvhBd5-ikA/s1600/P1000734.JPG

At most local Karaoke joints  you will have no problem finding this beer.

Surprisingly, this beer is not too bad; my worries were completely unfounded. The taste is similar to SMB, if slightly lighter and goes down very well. I rarely see it sold in its smaller bottles, most people seem to buy the Grande Version (1 liter) right away.

San Miguel Premium

Wow, what is that? This is a new addition and was only recently introduced. San Miguel Premium has a more international taste and is positioned as a more exclusive variation of SMB.

a taste of things to come

Given the day-to-day activities and pressures in the work place, we sometimes need to unplug from the grueling grind with San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer to get back to tackle on what’s next with more gusto.
This premium lager is made of 100% malt and contains 5.0% alcohol by volume. It allows beer drinkers to refresh their senses into balance so they would feel renewed to take on what’s next. It has unparalleled smoothness and taste that allows them to relax and recover their zest for life.

premium taste

San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer is available in 330mL bottles and cans.

It can be found in more upmarket restaurants and is regularly priced at 50-70 Pesos per bottle.

If you're a big fan of SanMigLight or its Pale Pilsen cousin, you'll find yourself easily
captivated with  San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer.

The problem is – it tastes very good! This stuff makes you want to drink more and more of it. Thankfully it’s not so popular yet and therefore rarely available.

But when you found a bar or restaurant with San Miguel Premium, prepare yourself that you will stay for a while longer.

San Miguel Premium all-malt beer
This new brew tastes great with its full malty flavor and smooth balanced bitterness. Personally, I think it out-ranks a lot of the imported beers available in the market today.

SM Strong Ice
San Miguel Light tastes great but is too light for you? Then why not go with San Mig Ice?
slide smooth strike strong
This is the stronger brother of SML; has a slightly more distinguished flavor and a higher alcohol content. If your goal is to get flying faster with less liquid, this could be your favorite.

strong ice

A high-alcohol pale amber lager characterized by pleasant estery notes and mild balanced bitterness. A brilliant ice-filtered beer that gives exceptional smoothness and a refreshingly cool afterdrink experience.

perfect for the beach

I found it readily available in bars and restaurants in the city, but your mileage will vary in the provinces. On resort islands, SM Strong Ice is generally less available.

Price-wise you will have to fork out between 30-50 Pesos per bottle for one of those.

San Miguel Light (SML)

San Mig Light is the low-calorie beer that gives you the full beer flavor, the same beer alcohol, yet less filling. The perfect balance between right and light.

  http://sanmiglight.com.ph/images/smbBottlePosterPriceEnlarge.jpg
San Mig Light has a very interesting flavor. A lot of people compare it with Corona, although it’s not made of corn. It’s very nice for a night out, if you are planning to chat with friends, play billiard or dance the night away, as it’s very light and doesn’t make you tired or drunk easily.
San mig endorser: Sam Pinto
It has very little CO2 that fades quickly, so it really tastes best very cold and you can’t take too long to empty the bottle, which shouldn’t be a real problem, as it’s only 300ml.
I see many ladies drinking San Mig Light and liking it.The design of the bottle looks also cool at the billiard table, though!

SML is usually about 22-30 Pesos per bottle.

San Miguel Pale Pilsen (SMB)

San Miguel Pale Pilsen (SMB)

San Miguel Pale Pilsen has a slight hoppy note with a distinct bitter hop character. It has a well-balanced medium body and is smooth on the palate with a pleasant clean finish.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQctuv4rtncnaMPPQtAktf84dFYERejwRBWwP5A3LjSq2QN4K7BLqRA6mjDh5Up_A7Ai-aCjYd36bjqZVIC1TmVCZp85kqWm71j6m5zBlTlopTlA9Cwd_3NdntTBqB2SllJRi05HVF-Edn/s320/San-Miguel-Pale-Pilsen-Foam-Party.jpg
This beer is the cornerstone of every beer drinkers fantasy in the Philippines. Once you tried this brew, there is no turning back. You will crave for it, when you don’t have it and empty the bottle in next to nothing, once you have it in front of you.

San Mig endorser: Manny "PacMan" Pacquiao
SMB says rightly of itself that it is “a truly satisfying beer, with a refined, well-balanced flavor. Perfected and brewed for over a century, it’s the only beer that nourishes true Filipino friendships.”. It’s other ad text is a bit awkward (especially for Germans, who love their ‘Beer Purity Law’ of 1516 or so), as it says “expertly brewed from the finest malt, hops and other ingredients found throughout the world“. Hmmm?!

What could be those other magic ingredients? One of them is cereal, which can be found sometimes on the label sticker. Nevertheless – this is a truly exciting beer, one of the best in Asia and for me one of my all-time favorites, right next to Beer Bintang of Indonesia and Beer Lao of Laos.

A small bottle (330ml) goes for as low as 19 Pesos in a sari sari store, the Grande (1 liter) is officially 54 Pesos, although in restaurants and bars you usually pay something around 35-50 Pesos for the small bottle, or 85-150 Pesos for the Grande.

Beer ng Pinoy

The Bottom Line
There is a wide and wonderful world of beer out there. Let's explore it! The very fact that you’re reading this suggests that you have an interest in beer. It may be nascent. It may be advanced. But it must be there to some degree if you’ve taken the time to see what this little dissertation of mine is all about. If you’re an experienced beer veteran, I hope you’ll read on. Perhaps you’ll learn something, or perhaps you can leave a comment that others and I can learn from. If you’re a newcomer to the wonderful world of beer, this blog is  for you, and hopefully we’ll have you on your way to enjoying the wonderful world of brews in no time at all.

There are many myths concerning beer, but the biggest of all perhaps is that it is no more than a fizzy, yellow, bland tasting beverage. Many people think that most beers are much like all the rest, but that simply isn’t the case.
The truth is that beer is as varied and exciting as food itself, and that shouldn’t be surprising because beer is food! Yet many people miss the boat on beer, usually sticking to the same brand of beer for most of their lives.
Consider, however, what you eat. Would you want to eat the same food and nothing else for the rest of your life? Even if you choose your favorite food of all, this would be a boring proposition indeed.

Fortunately, there’s no need to be so monogamous concerning either food or beer. But if you want to get out and explore the world of beer, where to start? So I'm making this blog as simple as possible to all readers to get informations and pricelists on beers locally made, imported and distributed here in the Philippines.Sit back, relax and enjoy a nice cold glass of beer!
